Working with Softroom’s highly textual design that divides the large volume into rooms using materiality, we aimed to transform the space so that it feels uplifting, inviting and playful. Using a large yellow light barragan wall, we gave the impression of heat and light in response to the brief. Experimenting with market components of cable and rubbish, we used techniques inspired by Picasso’s light drawings. A highlight of the design, Softroom’s high plastic bottle canopy, was backlit with KKDC warm LEDs. In doing this, we found the right colour balance which created an inviting ambience throughout the restaurant.
