Our collaboration with musician Matt Johnson and video artist Vicki Bennett blends light, sound, form and music for The The’s 2018 Comeback Tour. The result is a multi dimensional performance, exploring the complex impact of light and sound on human perception, touring international venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera House. Staying true to the brief, “more theatre and less rock and roll,” we used starkly contrasting effects through three distinct ‘chapters’ of the show taking the audience on an emotional journey.

Opening with a stark, monochrome film noir stage using 6000K and London greys, act two is more romantic using 2700K to simulate candle light creating intimacy with a dramatic finale combining projections, a sea of imagery, blue and lavender lighting and shadow play.
