Tate Modern Opening

Project Shots

Our aim was to provide lighting that was complementary to the existing architectural forms and details, concentrating on the building’s geometry and structural mass. The display began at sunset and saw lasers tracing the building’s form, projecting different shapes and patterns from the architectural features. The main sequence animated the façade with waves of light, highlighting and transforming many architectural details. Reflecting the overall theme of ‘the old giving life to the new,’ the sequence then culminated with the light emanating from within, symbolising the rebirth of Bankside as Tate Modern.
