In the Gallery 5 Café we wanted to use lighting to encourage the continuation of wonder in a more amiable and intimate atmosphere, nestled amongst the machinery of London’s Science Museum.

In addition to providing functionality, we saw an opportunity to display and celebrate linear fluorescents, LED points and Edison’s GLS lamps in a museum environment. The pendants were suspended at a height that humanised the space, allowing the lighting to be observed as if it were an item on display.
