We worked with students from the Professional Lighting Designers’ Association in a week long workshop, resulting in this highly experimental temporary installation. We looked into the concept of transition and motion: the movement of people, the movement of the sea and the movement of traffic. Motion sensors allowed us represent movement by projecting the shadows of those utilising the bridge onto glass walls, becoming visible from inside, outside and below. We further immersed the pedestrian into the installation, using uplighting to create texture on their bodies and exploring the concept of arrival and return.
