The Science of Survival Exhibition in London’s Science Museum guides visitors through striking colour-coded pods in which children and adults design their own food, vehicle and homes for the future. When used as a part of this interaction, lighting needed to play multiple roles in order to successfully create the experience, including the ability to stand out when needed in addition to being supportive to the display. We therefore used lighting to lead people through the exhibition, highlighting different features along the journey. In addition, we designed 95% of the lighting to attach to the pods in order to facilitate the installation of this mobile exhibition.
